WHAT DOES PARTY HAS TO DO WITH TRADITIONS ?  Patrick Ekong In a ludicrous manner, political party membership has become a criteria for nearly every traditional position in Akwa Ibom State and some other state in Nigeria. It is very disheartening how our elders and youths have decided to be mislead  by party politics that is seasonal with the traditions of their forefathers. They have forgotten that party is build on the society and not the society on the party. They have forgotten that several political parties have gone to extinction since the birth of democracy in Nigeria. How then do we as people allow party sentiment to swallow our conscience and blind us from the truth about traditions which is what define who we are? How then do the elders and youths defy traditions just to get political gratifications? So many peaceful communities has been set ablaze in consuming fire of defying the traditions of the people in the name of party politics. My village a...
COVID - 419: A BOOMING  BUSINESS. By Patrick Ekong It seems a business. They welcome it with an open arms. Falz says "this is Nigeria...." It is Nigeria where everything is an opportunity whether it involves life or death. They made it an opportunity to defraud our state treasury.  Offices documents have become burn offering sacrifice for the atonement of their pockets. They (pharmaceutical) have join the booming business that's why hand sensitizers and facemasks now sales more than gold and crude oil. Some state government officials ( state epidemiologist and commissioner for health)  battle hard among themselves to determine who stands at the front queue as the federal government share the lots. Palliatives too has become a business: customized bags of rice whose contents is dirtier than the bag itself are seen as a gift items presented to a chief priest in a bit to appease the (masses) gods. Every palliatives are accompanied by cameras with a bea...
WE HAVE A LESSON TO LEARN IN ALL THIS.  By Patrick Ekong The most  trending issue since the turn of 2020 has been COVID-19. This global pandemic came as a thief would break-in in the night.  No one saw it coming, not even the wealthy ones. The enchantress of the wee hours  didn't know it, not even the sorcerers of Hades. At the turn of the year (2020), the wealthy in their abundance,  set their eyes on enlarging their reservoir while the poor look for a means to survive, unknown to them that a monster was about to let loose. Dreams upon dreams have been shattered while survival above all else has find it way to the front line of life routine. Thousands are dying as many others lay on a bed of uncertainty, with oxygen as their hope for another second of life.  More than a millions are carriers and billions do not know their fate even as the global monster keeps raging on. It started jokingly. World leaders felt it was a drop of water 💧 thr...
COVID19 SHOULD HAVE TAUGHT YOU WHAT? By Patrick Ekong "It is only people who mean well for the society plays politics beyond party lines" Patrick Ekong.   When the political season draws near come 2023 if we are so lucky to survive HUNGA-19, u will realized that no political office holder mean well for us.  During 2019 elections 1.3million naira was given to each unit in my community  for vote buying but today 3 bags of rice and a bag of garri is given as palliatives in the same community. 2023 you will be shouting PDP/APC even if they offer mediocrity as flag bearer, after all you don't have conscience and as if u had one, you have sold it out of poverty. COVID-19 should teach you a hard lesson.
5G. By Idoreyin Inoh Artificial intelligence (AI) has enormous potential to improve diagnoses, determine best treatment plans for specific patients, and predict post-operative complications to enable early interventions when necessary. The large amounts of data needed for real-time rapid learning require ultra-reliable and high-bandwidth networks and 5G can make them happen. Even though 5G will dramatically increase the speed at which the internet will function, the stress that it will place on the spectrum as a whole may cause more problems than anticipated. The introduction of a 5G network will have an impact on everyone who uses the internet. Good or bad, 5G is on its way and will be here before we know it. All the 5G wireless devices in a cell communicate by radio waves with a local antenna array and low power automated transceiver (transmitter and receiver) in the cell, over frequency channels assigned by the transceiver from a pool of frequencies that are reused in ...
