POLITICAL FOES OF TODAY WILL EMERGE AS POLITICAL ALLIES OF TOMORROW.

It was Aristotle who once said that man by nature is a 'Social Animal'. What this implies is that man is by nature a social entity that is intended by nature to live in the society with fellow beings.
Since he is human, he is to live in the society. He cannot live outside because he can develop and actualize his potentials only in the society.
For Aristotle, man as a social being cannot make meaning out of life outside the society. He also upholds that he who cannot live in the society is either a god or a beast.
Party Politics has always been a statutory decimal as far as Nigerian Political arena is concerned. Though politics is a game of interest, it should be noted that the majority interest and progress of a state should and must supercedes the political ambition of one man.
The current political climate in Edo State is one which is not healthy for our political lifespan. A situation where a party who screened a candidate four years back comes to disqualify the same candidate on the basis of academic qualification is questionable on the part of the party leadership.
A situation where the Court works outside the party Constitution is also questionable because just as the Nigeria's Constitution provides for who takes over the leadership of the country in a situation of emergency (From the President to the Vice President, the Senate president, or the Speaker) the All Progressive Congress Constitution is very clear about this chain of command .
A situation where the grassroot structure of the party suspense the National Chairman of a party and he feels he is still in charge and nothing can happen is ridiculous. This is because we start counting from 1-100 and not 100 -1.
It is high time the Internal administrative mechanism be exhausted before approaching the Court. Also the court should be able to examine the weight of matters brought before it prior to judicial engagement by parties involved.
For the people of Great Benin Kingdom, I urge us to respect the cultural bond that identifies us. Let us remember that party politics will always come and go, but Great Benin Kingdom will and must always remain.
Our political elites should also thread carefully because without the society (Edo people) they are nothing as upheld by Aristotle in his Concept of State.
Finally, let us remember that the political foes of today will become the allies of tomorrow. Hence, let us be rational as a state and as a nation because a nation will always live forever, but an individual cannot live forever.
