KNOW WHEN TO WALK AWAY.

The Relationship thing...

Sam, in discombobulation think of all the things he had done to his girlfriend, Glads and numerous girls he had had.

Not like he liked the monster he had turned into but it was really absurd how he couldn't control his temper anytime he was in heated argument with his girl.

He was once told by his Aunty  that beating of wives and girlfriends is what he inherited from the father.

He recollected watching his late father manhandled his mother at his presence as a kid then.

He recalled vividly how the father had whipped the mom for failing to warm his soup before bringing to the dinning table.

Now Sam was his own monster who roar with any little disagreement in the house.

The girlfriend, Glads, a beautiful median who was blinded by love, had thought she could change him.

She was a girl with dazzling beauty who most men would've wanted for a wife but her man was only taking her for a ride.

She had endured so much in the relationship and every time she thought of moving on, she keeps reminding herself of how she can't give up on Sam just yet.

In fact on several occasions, she had been beaten to coma by Sam anytime she erred in one way the other but despite all of these, she couldn't think of walking away.

On a Saturday evening, Sam had planned to take Glads for a treat, something he hasn't done in a very long time.

He had told her to get prepared for a ride around town, hoping to take Glads on a surprise to an eatery, where they can sit out for a while.

"Baby!  Are you not ready?....I told you to get dressed up since..." He said from the sitting room where he was watching replay of Arsenal Vs Chelsea FC FA Cup final on TV.

Glads wasn't answering him, perhaps she didn't hear from the bedroom.

Sam called again

"Baby!.. Come on! We are running late. Remember I told you I wanna get home early.. He continued. What's keeping you?"

Glads had been a girl who loves to wear makeup before outings, something Sam loved too.

She was busy in the bedroom putting herself in order.

After about 15mins, Sam ran out of patience, went to meet Glads in the room to announced he was not going out again.

Glads disappointed with all the efforts she had put in making herself presentable, asked Sam why he cancelled the outing.

"Baby what's the problem?"... She said with the make up brush still in her hand.

Baby I had to look good for you and you have just ruined the evening for us. She continued feeling disappointed.

At that moment, Sam had settled himself in sofa adjacent to where Glads was standing beside the bed with a swellon face.

"What do you mean I have ruined your evening? He roared.... "I told you we were going out but instead of you to be snappy like a girls should, you stayed here making up for over half an hour.

When will you act smart and mature as a modern woman?"

At this point, Glads asked him to stopped comparing her to other women.

Some moment later, heated argument started between them and immediately Sam brought out his waist belt, whipped Glads as a lock of wood for daring to talk back at him.

Unknowingly the belt buckle hit Glads on her left eye and blood started dripping. Just then Sam realized he had damaged her left eye.

Relationship is not a do or die affair.

Know when to walk away.

Don't die because of love.

There's LOVE at the next door.

Take a step forward.

DON'T LEAVE WHEN IT IS TOO LATE.

The story . Udauk was too weak to continue with the evening chores around the house because of her pregnancy. She bent over the kitchen cabinet in search of a tuber of yam she was to prepare before her husband returned from work. At the point of stretching her hands to reach the tuber of yam under the cabin, she felt a sharp pain down her abdomen. Her left lap was swollen from the beating she got the previous night from the monster's husband. She was still short of three months from her due month. That's when she was to put to birth. The shape pain was accompanied by a loud scream. She dropped the knife she had with her and tried to settle on a table-size stool lying close to the gas cylinder in the kitchen, but she couldn't. She fell and started screaming, reached out to her phone, and dialed her husband. Mr. Sam had branched  Madam G's Native Kitchen to settle for a while before heading home as his habit demands. He was busy at his usual joint with a bottle of chill

JOURNEY OF NO RETURN.

The story. The atmosphere was heavy, that of apprehension and uncertainty as Iquo stared at the open space leading into the compound. It was around 10:33pm that evening.  A time in Ikot Ekim community when every household had put off their lamps and retired to bed. The nocturnal sound of night creatures made the night even more looming and intense.  Nsek has never stayed out so late no matter how fierce any argument with his wife was. In their 24 years of marriage, no matter the nature of the fights Iquo has had with her husband he will always come back home to rest in his hut.  As time ticked away, she stared at the open compound, struggling to fend off the call of nature with the hope her husband would appear at the far end of the compound.  Using her hand to support her chin, she wondered how things could change so fast. Her husband Nsek was no longer the man she married. He picked fights at every little argument and would end the night with curses, accusing Iquo of turning his on
