LADIES' MEN

 Choose wisely...

Clara flung the door ajar, walked sluggishly to her bed, throw her hand bag to the far corner of the room, fall on the bed and sobbed in tears.

She couldn't believe that the man she's been carrying on her head, treat as a king was an harden womaniser who lust for every daughter of Eve.

She had caught Ken on the act inside his apartment devouring Emem, his next door  neighbor who was a year two student in the state owned University.

Just as she was weeping bitterly and in anguish, her friends, Olivia and Faith walked in to the room and noticed that she wasn't alright.

"Babe... Are you alright? What is it?..." Enquired Olivia.

Clara burst in tears as she couldn't control herself.

"...babe talk to us, we are friends.. Faith added, looking so worried.

Clara tried controlling herself and in a bit summoned courage to narrate the bad luck she met that evening at Ken's apartment.

She narrated with eyes full of tears how Ken has become a fowl who climb anything available at heat.

Her boyfriend's lust for women was like a curse which she found it difficult to lift off his shoulders.

The worst was that Ken ticked all the boxes as a man but he wasn't showing any sign of slowing down in his SKIRT ADVENTURES and whenever they quarrel because of this, he will always find a way to her heart since she was a kind hearted girl.

She said Ken on several occasions, was good at begging and wailing in tears for  forgiveness  everytime she caught him on the act.

As Clara was consumed in raged while narrating her   ordeals, Olivia told her she was lucky her man takes care of her, give her attention and say sorry whenever he's wrong.

"My man, Desmond is so careless about our relationship"... Olivia continued.

"He barely calls, barely chat me even when we are online at the same time. He doesn't act like we are dating at all... He doesn't ask where I go, what I do and most times he is always acting busy, but he keeps telling me how he loves me whenever I question his position in the relationship...."

Sweetheart, I don't think i am in a relationship. I don't call this relationship Olivia added, looking dejected.

Faith at the other edge of the bed with a pillow in between her thighs, narrated her ordeals too.

"Girls!... I think you guys are lucky to some extent..." She said. "Take a look at me and see how drained I have become due to what my boyfriend has succeeded in turning me into, a s*x slave. Yes! I, Faith Abatia have become s*x slave to my boyfriend Sam in the name of relationship.

"Sam is a s*x addict", she lament

"Do you know that Sam do not want to hear of  the word "menstrual period"?

All what he cares about is s*x in the morning, afternoon and night...."

And most times I can't say no  to keep my relationship and  for peace to reign. She said.

"Girls.. I think we ladies are all facing different devils  in our respective relationships". She continued.

"We just have to deal with it or we walk away." She added.

On hearing what has  also befallen her  girlfriends,  Clara made up her mind never to cry for Ken again.

She was determined to walk away rather than stock in tears every time.

*****

Dear Ladies,

There's no such thing as PERFECT RELATIONSHIP.

Everyone is facing their own DEVIL in their relationship,

So,

CHOOSE YOUR DEVIL WISELY.

And

Let it be the DEVIL you can CONTAIN.

Don't STICK where you can not GUM.

LIFE goes on after all.

DON'T LEAVE WHEN IT IS TOO LATE.

The story . Udauk was too weak to continue with the evening chores around the house because of her pregnancy. She bent over the kitchen cabinet in search of a tuber of yam she was to prepare before her husband returned from work. At the point of stretching her hands to reach the tuber of yam under the cabin, she felt a sharp pain down her abdomen. Her left lap was swollen from the beating she got the previous night from the monster's husband. She was still short of three months from her due month. That's when she was to put to birth. The shape pain was accompanied by a loud scream. She dropped the knife she had with her and tried to settle on a table-size stool lying close to the gas cylinder in the kitchen, but she couldn't. She fell and started screaming, reached out to her phone, and dialed her husband. Mr. Sam had branched  Madam G's Native Kitchen to settle for a while before heading home as his habit demands. He was busy at his usual joint with a bottle of chill

JOURNEY OF NO RETURN.

The story. The atmosphere was heavy, that of apprehension and uncertainty as Iquo stared at the open space leading into the compound. It was around 10:33pm that evening.  A time in Ikot Ekim community when every household had put off their lamps and retired to bed. The nocturnal sound of night creatures made the night even more looming and intense.  Nsek has never stayed out so late no matter how fierce any argument with his wife was. In their 24 years of marriage, no matter the nature of the fights Iquo has had with her husband he will always come back home to rest in his hut.  As time ticked away, she stared at the open compound, struggling to fend off the call of nature with the hope her husband would appear at the far end of the compound.  Using her hand to support her chin, she wondered how things could change so fast. Her husband Nsek was no longer the man she married. He picked fights at every little argument and would end the night with curses, accusing Iquo of turning his on
