A SPOTLIGHT ON AKWA IBOM NEXT RISING STAR , JESSICA AKPABIO

Little was known of this name until 2017 when her short video clip (song), titled "NKANA MME" went viral on social media and recorded massive viewership  and outstanding number of shares within 48hours. 


Since then, the name JESSICA Akpabio has gain huge fan base across the digital media platforms most particularly FACEBOOK.


JESSICA Akpabio, an indigen of Ibiaku Esa Ekpo in Mkpat Enin LGA, Akwa Ibom State, started her musical journey in her teenage days. 


As a little girl with talent to sing and make a different through her songs, JESSICA in her childhood was a member of teenage choir group, playing the leading role in a group of  teenagers who exceptionally wowed audiences, particularly in Sunday services and other events.


She holds a bachelor degree in Chemistry Education  from the prestigious university of Uyo,  Akwa Ibom state and even while in school, JESSICA was a top notch student who blend her services to God with academic activities. 


Currently a member in  Daystar Christian Centre choir, Jessica recently dropped her single titled 'IMA' which means LOVE and this hit single has had a good number of downloads  so far.


According to her, the chorus of the hit single was gathered in January 2019 and the other part of the song in October same year. 


In a recent interview,  JESSICA joked about being called a songwriter because according to her, she is blessed with already composed songs from God.


" I WILL NOT CALL MYSELF A SONGWRITER, AS GOD PUTS ALREADY COMPOSED SONGS IN MY MOUTH".


Her hit single 'IMA' has garnered loads of streaming on various platforms and she is currently working on her next song. She's not signed to any record label for now.


JESSICA, though still in her infant days as gospel music artist but she has shown that she can become the next big name in the music industry. 


Akwa Ibom got talent, Akwa Ibom got JESSICA Akpabio.

JOURNEY OF NO RETURN.

  The story. The atmosphere was heavy, that of apprehension and uncertainty as Iquo stared at the open space leading into the compound. It was around 10:33pm that evening.  A time in Ikot Ekim community when every household had put off their lamps and retired to bed. The nocturnal sound of night creatures made the night even more looming and intense.  Nsek has never stayed out so late no matter how fierce any argument with his wife was. In their 24 years of marriage, no matter the nature of the fights Iquo has had with her husband he will always come back home to rest in his hut.  As time ticked away, she stared at the open compound, struggling to fend off the call of nature with the hope her husband would appear at the far end of the compound.  Using her hand to support her chin, she wondered how things could change so fast. Her husband Nsek was no longer the man she married. He picked fights at every little argument and would end the night with curses, accusing Iquo of turning his on
