Malami: MINISTER OF INJUSTICE.
It is rather unfortunate and disconcerting that the office of the Attorney General Of the Federation of Nigeria has been an office where the occupant can be likened to village drunkard who brag and make unnecessary noise once intoxicated by alcohol.
It is ludicrous that Malami have failed to know even as a senior advocate, how laws are applied and also the importance of the highly rated office that he has rather optioned to use it for displaying his sectarian and emotional vituperation.
The AGF has several times poured out his provocative attitude on issues of national importance.
As published in Vanguard Newspaper publication of 14th January 2020, the AGF faulted Amotekun, a South West security outfit, saying that it was targeted at Fulani herdsmen and so declared it unconstitutional.
Furthermore, as also published by Guardian Newspaper on September 19th, 2020, Malami has said that the National Assembly had no constitutional power to summon President Buahari following a call on the president to brief the country on state of insecurity as 43 rice farmers were massacred in Borno State.
With the above captured excerpt, there is no surprise that the minister of justice was recently labelled an adjucator of injustice, tribal senselessness and total display of emotions even with issues that has to do with the collective bargains of Nigerians he is entrusted to be fair to.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in a recent statement through it secretary, as published by Guardian Newspaper, 20th May 2021, described the AGF as a “chief law officer that twists the law at will.
In his recent interview where the minister of justice of (Fulani herdsmen?) faulted the resolution of the southern governors on the ban on open grazing, Malami further exposed his inability to distill issues as a senior advocate but rather allowing his Fulani sentiment becloud his sense of responsibility even at the detriment of millions of lives wasted by those he is seeking to protect.
To further flaunt his senselessness as regards matters of importance, the AGF likened a legitimate business of spare parts sells in a lockup shops to the mayhems unleashed by herders in the name of grazing.
The unchecked utterances of Malami further coincided with Bauchi state governor, Yaya Bello open support of arms carrying by the same herdsmen, a statement made when the country was plunged into life taking security situation orchestrated by this same Fulani herders.
With Malami statement further highlighting the fact that some tribe and citizens of the country are more important than the others, let it be emphatically stated that Malami do not deserve the position of the Attorney General Of Nigeria if the country truly seek the collective interest of all sundry.
Malami like Yaya Bello have, while serving as officer of the federal republic of Nigeria allow emotions and personal interest outweighed the collective interest and office they swore an oath to protect and defend.
Nigeria from all indications, especially with this kind of utterances seems a bandwagon where the chief driver is a single ethnicity while others have no option than to keep quiet and endure the impending doom they driven to at such a high speed.
While Malami enjoy the backlashes on the afore, it should be known that only they ( Malami, Yaya Bello and the likes) can do this and go scout free
Nigeria, a bleeding Nigeria where some are more citizens than others.
